“…….it has always been my heart cry to see widows, widowers, aged and orphans in this community (Kwoi) been catered for by CCWA, and today, I’m a happy man, because my dreams come true. If death should come knocking, I’m ready to go because I’m fulfilled”.
Those were the words of Rev. Jonathan Garba (CCWA Kwoi District Coordinator) during the official inauguration of 15 new centers in Kwoi District of Kaduna State on 26th November, 2011. Drums were rolled out; singing, dancing and shouting were not left out as widows, widowers, aged, orphans and fatherless children stood on the street to welcome the Founder/President for the official inauguration of new CCWA centers in Kwoi District. The occasion which was described by several members of the community as “God’s intervention” was witnessed by the Village Head of several Villages, Priests from different denominations and reputable sons and daughters of soil.
The Founder/President in her speech appreciated God for the great vision given to CCWA in order to cater for the neglected members of the society (widows, widowers, the aged, orphans and fatherless children). She addressed the participants on how God regards widows and orphans (Prov. 15:25), how people should treat widows and orphans (Deut. 14:28-29), consequences and punishments allotted to those who oppress or treat them wrongly (Exo. 22: 22-24 and Deut. 27:19), and, how God wants widows to live (I Tim. 5:9-10). Also, emphases were placed on various activities of the organization which include: weekly Bible Study/Seminars, Faith Clinic, Counseling Sessions, Founder’s Scholarships Scheme, Skill Acquisition Program, and Small Scale Business Loans.
She further encouraged them to be faithful and participate in these activities. Several lives were touched as gift items were distributed to everyone in attendance and administrative materials were given to the selected officials of each center. Rev. Jonathan Garba, on behalf of the new District, appreciated the Founder for her generosity towards the community, and prayed for God’s continuous provisions and protections on her.
