Pst. Oke congratulated all the beneficiaries of CCWA Scholarship Awards and their families. He commended their brilliant performances in their last examinations, which were part of the yardsticks used in the scholarship awards selection process. He urged the Scholars to make good use of their Awards by working harder in their studies and setting greater goals to achieve their full potential. He indicated the Founder’s commitment to render her continuous support to any orphan that distinguishes himself/herself in his/her studies. Lastly, he thanked the District Coordinator for his selfless service and encouraged him to continue sending all necessary documents for scholarship awards to the Headquarters on time for processing. Pst. Oke called out the names of the Scholars from Boro District one after the other. The scholarship fund was presented to the Scholars and their Parents/Guardians. The Scholars thereafter acknowledged receipt of the scholarships.
Three out of the nineteen Scholars were unavoidably absent. The scholarship fund for the three scholars was handed to Mr. Idowu to be taken back to Abuja. Names of Scholars from Ikulu District were also called out one after the other. The scholarship fund was presented to the Scholars and their Parents/Guardians who then acknowledged receipt of the scholarships. The scholarship funds of three out of the eighteen Scholars who were unavoidably absent were again handed to Mr. Idowu to be taken back to Abuja.
Rev. Ogomisin on behalf of all the Scholars, Parents/Guardians and Boro and Ikulu Communities thanked the Founder for the scholarship awards.
He ordered all the Scholars to stand and chorus ‘thank you Prof. Ajakaiye’, after which they all prayed for the Founder that God will bless her abundantly. Rev. Ogomisin also appreciated the efforts of the two CCWA representatives present and prayed that God will bless and grant them all their hearts desires.
In conclusion, he solicited for awards of scholarships to orphans from Fadan Kamanton District. We later explained to him that documents of orphans from Fadan Kamanton District have not been sent to the Headquarters for processing, CCWA scholarships are only awarded to orphans with complete documentation ( completed scholarship application form, school report/examination result, interview panel report). Rev Ogomisin promised to compile and send the required documentation to CCWA Headquarters.
Mrs. Istifanus (Boro District Coordinator) on behalf of the two Districts deeply expressed their appreciation to the Founder for the Scholarships awarded. She stated that they will be eternally grateful for the gestures of love and care exhibited by the Founder and CCWA.
Also, Silas Ayuka (one of the Scholarship awardees) on behalf of all the Scholars awarded Scholarships expressed his sincere appreciation to the Founder for the Scholarship. He narrated his ordeal as a child when he lost his parents and was deserted by all his siblings. He revealed that he raised funds for his nursery and primary education through incomes gotten from rearing livestock (chickens, goats etc.). He stated that CCWA intervened at a time in his life when all hopes were lost, and the Founder’s intervention shows that he still has a father and mother.
